The paper entitled “Software-Defined Vehicular Networking: Opportunities and Challenges” presents the adoption of SDN in a vehicular communication environment, namely SDVN, showing that SDVN could provide the flexibility and programmability that V2X requires. This approach illustrates SDVN as a key enabler in meeting those requirements and shows SDVN as complementary to emergent technologies, such as MEC, VCC, and NFV. Furthermore, the paper describes most of the critical challenges from both technical and research points of view.
